Ventless-Side vents-middle vent?

Do vents imply quality, better suits have side vents or is it just style preference?

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

----------------------------------------------------

Vents are a function of personal style and the fashion of the day. The presence of vents do not in way reflect on the quality of a suit or sports coat. Today center vents and side vents are both fashionable and very safe to wear. Non vented jackets are also fine.

Should you purchase a vented jacket and you later decide that you would like the vent(s) to disappear any qualified tailor will be able to accommodate you. The reverse, making vents appear where none exist, cannot be properly done.

Dress to Impress

Question:

What shirt and tie would go best with a Navy pinstripe suit for print modeling? I favor a red tie.

RESPONSE:

To give you the most complete and definitive answer you should tell the purpose of the print and who your target audience is.

========================================================================

Follow-up:

The print ad I will be in is as a real estate broker owner and the target market is high end real estate sellers.

Do you still go with the red tie? What color shirt should I wear?

RESPONSE:

When you are selling real estate, particularly high end, expensive properties, you want two attributes to jump out at your potential customers:
1. trustworthiness
2. expertise

To accomplish this wear classic clothing that is not trendy. Do not wear anything that screams out from the picture. Do not wear anything that takes away attention from you. The focus should be on you not your clothing. Wear a nice navy or grey suit with a soft stripe. The shirt should be a pale blue. Do not wear a dark shirt or any wild designs. The tie should have a larger design that will not cause static on the picture and the colors should be soft and subdued. Combine blue, grey, perhaps a little burgundy or red - just make sure the tie does not scream out.

Matching your partner

Question:

I have a dance coming soon and I have this black suit with light blue almost gray pinstripes. My date is wearing a sort of hot pink dress. Can I find a way to match her with my current suit or should I get a different outfit altogether.

RESPONSE:

You sound like every girls dream if you are willing to buy a new suit just to match her outfit. The suit you have sounds fashionable and can be accessorized with pink to match your date. You can wear a pink shirt and then get a tie that brings your suit and shirt together.

Flat Front or Pleated

Question:

Are flat-front or pleated pants more the style today?

---------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE

Flat front pants have made strong inroads into men's fashion in the last couple of years. The market is however still leaning towards pleated pants. Younger consumers are tending more towards the fashionable look of a flat front pant whereas the more mature consumer is purchasing the tried and true pleated pant. A pleated pant provides extra room resulting in greater comfort. The flat front pant emphasizes a good build and a well proportioned body.

How long should a sleeve be?

Question:

Where should my suit and sports coat sleeves come to in relations to my thumb? I have one arm longer than the other due to an injury.

---------------------------------------------------------------

REPLY:

The jacket sleeve usually looks best when it reaches the base of the thumb which is really the top of the palm. This way you will see a little shirt sleeve exposed when wearing the jacket. Don't worry about the variance in length of your 2 arms. If your sleeves are tailored otherwise and the sleeves finish on different points on your hands this will more than likely attract attention to your injury.

Symetrical bodies are really the exception rather than the rule so a small difference will really not be noticed. If the difference in length between your arms is 3 inches or more, I would suggest that the sleeve of the shorter arm be tapered to match the other side.

Suit jacket size 36 Short, what are the pant size?

Question:

I like the navy stripe Ralph Lauren - just wondering when I order 36 short - what sized trousers do I get? and do you get these suits made by brands ...how do I know its original?

------------------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE

All of our suits unless otherwise specified are shipped with a pant that is sized 6 inches smaller than the jacket. In technical jargon the difference between the jacket size and pant size is known as the "drop". Following this logic the 36 jacket will come with a waist 30 pant. Should you require a different combination of sizes you can get them by looking at our suit separates where you can place an order for your choice of jacket size and pant size.

All of our suits carry the original brand names of their respective designer's or manufacturer's. The risk to our reputation and good name, which has been develop over the last fifty years, is to dear to us to jeopardize.

What is an extension waist?

An extension waistband is the portion of the waist band that extends beyond the fly (zipper) area and contains a button or clip closure at the end. You will usually find the extended waistband on a better quality pant.

Super 140's

With selective merino sheep breeding and advances in spinning, weaving and finishing, a whole line of very fine worsted fabrics have been developed. They are determined by the delicacy of the fiber used, measured in microns, equal to one millionth of a meter. The first were super 80’s, which were just under 20 microns in diameter. This was followed by finer, super 100’s at 18.5 microns. There has been a movement to get finer and finer worsteds (with reports of some cheating) and there are now super 110’s (18.0 microns), super 120’s, 140’s and 150’s (16 microns). In recent years this escalated to super 180’s (14.5 microns), 190’s (14), and then 200’s (13.5) and
even super 210’s at 13 microns.

Size of the yarn alone is not the only factor influencing the quality of the fabric and ultimately the garment it makes.

Spinning of the yarns, the weaving and the finish are all key as is the source of the wool. The design, the manufacturing and finishing process for the garment are of integral importance to the final determination of the quality of the garment.
