Black with beige?

Hello, I've got a question;
Can I use a black striped blazer with beige pants?

Thank you

----------------------------------------------------------

You can certainly use a black blazer with a stripe to go with beige pants. Just make sure that the color of the stripe if it is prominent does not clash with the beige. If you can use your shirt to coordinate the stripe and pant.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any more questions.

Blazer vs Sport Coat

Question:

What is the distinction between a blazer and a sport coat? Which is more in fashion now?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The difference is subtle and often the terms sport coat and blazer are used interchangeably. Generally, a blazer is a classic jacket in a solid color most often navy or black. Blazers often have metal buttons resembling military uniforms. In terms of fashionability, the blazer I have described is a classic garment and has been in style as long as I can remember and I expect this trend to continue. Sport jackets can be classic or trendy or dressy or very casual depending on your choice of jacket and how you accessorize it.

The best way to make a decision on what to buy is by assessing your intended uses and buying a jacket that suits your purpose. I will gladly help you make the right choice if you let me know where you intend to wear the jacket.

Matching Grey

Question:

What shirt colors match with a grey suit? Thanks!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr. Wilson,

Matching a grey suit should not be a problem. As you have not mentioned any patterns, I will assume that that the suit is a plain grey. The classic combination would of course be white or light blue. The fashionable alternatives today are pink and orange. Pink will work particularly well with grey for the whole shirt or just as an accent shade i.e. a check or stripe. Lots of other possibilities will work with grey, but this should cover the basiscs.

Young and Casual

Question:

Hey i'm fifteen and im looking for a casual suit, which i can wear most places, ideally i would like pin stripes. What do you reccomend?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Tom,

Suits are taking on a whole new role in the life of a well dressed young man. In years gone by, the suit served as an elegant uniform whereas today it has adapted itself to casual elegance as well. The major difference between the two uses is not the suit as much as the accessories coordinated with it.

For your purposes I would recommend a nice Calvin Klein with a stripe and a flat front pant. Consider these two options:

Baptism Suit (yours, not the babies)

Dear Leo,

What is a good suit for a young late 20's guy to look sharp in for a baptism?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the absence of specific information such as; what are others wearing and the time of year and climate surrounding the baptism, recommending a suit can present a challenge. I am assuming that you do not have a large selection of dressy clothing in your wardrobe and as such I would recommend something versatile. Given that you are in your late twenties and you want to look sharp, I would suggest a fashionable cut in an elegant shade that will perform well for you for a variety of functions.

Your best choice would be a fine black suit in a plain fabric. Choose a model with a flat front pant and possibly side vents. This will give you a suit that is elegant but at the same time can be dressed down for a more casual look. The jacket will also serve well as a blazer with matching pants or even jeans. The right black suit is the most versatile outfit a man can own.

The following are a couple of choices I would recommend:

http://www.execstyle.com/SProducts_sepa.asp?pid=1321 A high fashion option
http://www.execstyle.com/SProducts.asp?pid=1237 Fashionable and very high quality

Please let me know how you like these options and do not hesitate to call on us for any further advice.

Dear Leo, I need help... (part 2)

Thanks for the advice, but could you show me a specific suit on the site?

Bill

--------------------------------------

Dear Bill,

If you are looking for a black suit that performs all the functions I mentioned I would recommend our Estrato by Manzoni http://www.execstyle.com/SProducts.asp?pid=925

If you are looking primarily for an elegant black I would recommend http://www.execstyle.com/SProducts.asp?pid=1234 despite the fact that we are showing it with a sport shirt. This suit has a slight sheen which gives a little more of a dress look. Both of them can sub for a tux at a formal event.

I hope this helps,
Leo

Dear Leo, I need help...

Hi Leo,
I'm tinkering with the idea of adding another suit to my collection. I have 3: navy, charcoal, and taupe. I was wondering what you might recommend. I don't wear suits every day, but do need them when I meet people outside our organization and when I deal with our Senior Management. I also wear them for evenings out with my wife and various other sorts of non work related events.

Bill H.

Dear Bill,
A plain black suit can be your most versatile piece of clothing. If you choose the fabric wisely it can be worn for formal occasions, to the office or just casually. Your wife, as most women do, will probably love the extra touch of elegance only a black suit can provide. The jacket will double as a nice blazer and can be coordinated with grey flannels or a pair of jeans.
