Shirt with the contrasting collar and cuff

The shirt with the contrasting collar and cuff was made popular by Hollywood in a movie called "The American President". This shirt is still popular and is worn by Rumsfeld among others. I recommend this shirt for someone wishing to make an authoritative statement with the presence to carry it off. Far fewer of these shirts with contrasting cuff and collar are sold than the standard shirt but they are both fashionable. Wear one of these shirts at the right time and place and well coordinated and it will be a hit. If you are concerned about the look play it safe and wear a more classic look.

Why do you French Cuff?

Generally, men who wear French cuff shirts do so for two reasons. Firstly, French cuffs provide a more elegant and powerful look and secondly, men wear them as a distinctive element of personal style.

French cuffs during recent years have not been a prominent style consideration for many men and this trend does not appear to be changing.

Determining a Pant's Rise

To measure the rise
1) measure the outseam length (from the top of the belt to the pant bottom)
2) measure the inseam length (crotch to pant bottom along inside seam)
3) and then deduct one from the other.

The result is the rise.
A regular rise is usually about 11 1/2 inches.

Thread count is not everything...

We carry suits that are super 100's for $1000 and suits that are super 140's for $289. Theoretically, the higher the thread count the finer and better the fabric. To determine which suit to buy, contact a reliable retailer and tell them what you already own and what your needs are. Listen to good advice. There are many factors that determine the suit that you should buy. Purchasing a suit based on the thread count is like buying a car because it has leather upholstery.
